ABOUT
THE INVENTOR
THE DRAWING BREAKTHROUGH KIT
Invented & Written by John Hastings
A man of many interests, John Hastings has a Bachelor of Science in
Liberal Arts, an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics, a massage
school diploma, and a Certificate in Technical Communications. Though
he worked as an electronics technician for 19 years, John has also been
a tennis instructor, a guitar instructor, and a massage practitioner.
John enjoys playing guitar, playing tennis, ballroom dancing, and drawing, as well as cooking, reading, and listening to jazz.
In short, although his day job has long been technical, John has also exercised the creative right side of his brain. As an inventor, John combined his technical expertise with his imaginative personality to create a trumpet that required no fingering and had no moving parts, for use by those with physical limitations.
With The Drawing Breakthrough Kit, John has combined logic and creativity to provide the means for anyone and everyone to learn the basics of drawing. Since educational funding cutbacks have made most schools’ art programs obsolete (although countless studies have proven the long-term benefits of art education) John has designed the kit for both educators and parents. With an easy-to-use workbook and reusable exercise sheets, the kit is a wonderful tool for both group art activities in the classroom and quiet time at home.
Clearly and simply written and intended for use by artists age 10 and up, The
Drawing Breakthrough Kit provides the basic tools necessary for even the least
experienced among us to learn to express ourselves through drawing.
